Westboro/Hintonburg Pub Crawl

If you enjoy local craft beers and exploring new neighbourhoods, look no further than Westboro/Hintonburg. Westboro is the area between Island Park Drive/Highway 417/Churchill Avenue and the Ottawa River and Hintonburg is the area to the east, bounded by the transitway, Scott Street, Queensway and Holland Drive and are almost adjacent to each other. They are both neighbourhoods in Ottawa known for being hip, boujee and an upscale vibe with local shops and restaurants.

This bar crawl is about 45 minutes of walking from one end to the other. Both Westboro and Hintonburg are accessible by car, bus and bike. If you drive, you can park directly on Wellington Street or any side street and leave your car overnight if you don’t have a designated driver.

Stop 1: Clocktower Brew Pub

Ottawa’s original craft beer pub, the Clocktower Brew Pub is in Westboro. Try one of their very own craft beers and sit on their outdoor patio in the warmer months!

Stop 2: Maverick’s Donuts

Head down Richmond Road for a snack on the way to your next pub. Maverick’s is a local Ottawa bakery that makes fresh donuts daily and have the most amazing gourmet flavours.

Stop 3: Bar Lupulus

Bar Lupulus is a quirky pub in Westboro with 20 rotating taps. It has a cozy vibe and a beautiful backyard garden patio open in the warmer months.

Stop 4: Stella Luna Gelato

If donuts aren’t your thing, or if you want another snack on your way, stop at Stella Luna Gelato before heading to the next brewery. Stella Luna makes internationally award-winning gelato and even their small size is huge!

Stop 5: Tooth and Nail

Tooth and Nail is one of my favourite craft breweries in Ottawa with a great vibe and classic pub grub.

Stop 6: Hintonburg Public House

The final brewery stop is the Hintonburg Public House, with a covered patio. They have Summer’s Antiques & Gifts Shop, where all of the quirky things Summer finds to decorate the space are for sale!

Stop 7: Tennessy Willems or Elmdale Tavern

Tennessy Willems is a word fired pizza restaurant using local farmers and fresh natural ingredients. Elmdale Tavern is part of the Whalesbone group in Ottawa, specializing in oysters and turns in to a dance venue Saturday evenings with the best throwback music.
