I still can’t believe I’m writing this in a new year, let alone a new decade! I started Passportunities a few years ago to share my travel stories and my obsessive planning for every trip. It’s been a fun way to improve my photography skills and I’ve met so many new, wonderful people because of it. I’m excited for what 2020 brings!
2019 was a jam packed year for me. I purchased a condo, was in one of my best friends’ wedding in Calgary, renovated my kitchen, spent a LOT of time at work, went on multiple photo walks in Ottawa and met some more great people. I’ve now been accepted to start my Master’s in Engineering and have recently become a Women Who Explore ambassador!
Weekend trips in 2019 included: Iceland; Ithaca, NY; Prince Edward County (twice); Toronto; Kawarthas for a Butter Tart Tour; Halifax and Lunenburg; Lake Placid; Kingston; Adirondacks. I worked on the #52weekhikingchallenge and did pretty well including hikes in: USA (NY State and Vermont), Ontario (Ottawa, Rock Dunder, Eagle’s Nest), Quebec (Gatineau) and Alberta.
This year I have a few longer trips planned across the ocean and am working on a few weekend trips to put in the books. I suggest you sign up for notifications for upcoming posts in Quebec City, snowshoeing in/around Ottawa, Montreal and Europe (exact county TBD). Who knows where else 2020 will take me!
